John 14:12–14 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

Whoever believes in me
As Christians we are carrying on the work of Jesus. This is a promise to all believers. This is astonishing. So there is no exclusion here if you are a Christian. We should move in this faith if we are true follower of Jesus!
The text says, “whoever believes in me.” This exact phrase is also mentioned other times by the Lord.
- Whoever believes in me shall never thirst” (John 6:35).
- “Whoever believes in me . . . ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water’” (John 7:38).
- “Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live” (John 11:25).
- “Whoever believes in me will not remain in darkness” (John 12:46).
Do you really believe in Him?
Jesus did many works and many miracles. Some are not even mentioned in the Bible.
John 20:30 There are also many other signs (attesting miracles) that Jesus performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book;
How many miracles?
We don’t know how many miracles Jesus did during His life and earthly ministry on earth
While we don’t know how many miracles were performed, we can count those that are clearly spoken of in the four gospel accounts wish are 38 plus His resurrection for a total of 39 miracles.
Why Did Jesus Do Miracles?
First, Jesus told us that He came not to be ministered unto, but to minister (Mark 10:45) and in His miracles He certainly did that.
Jesus performed miracles was to reveal Himself as being sent by God, as being the Son of Man (a Messianic title), and as being the Son of God.
One more reason for Jesus performing miracles was to give us a glimpse of that which is to come. One day all things will be made new by the power of God.
Do miracles still happen today?
In Scripture, miracles are often associated with the words “signs and wonders.” A sign is a physical manifestation that points to something greater than itself. In other words, the healing ministry of Jesus recounted in Scripture confirms that Jesus Christ is the son of God and the Savior of the world (Acts 2:22)
I believe all the kinds of miracles we see in the New Testament continue to happen in the world today with the same frequency and intensity
Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
How can we do greater works than Jesus?
We don't need to wrongly think that “greater works” means “more miraculous”. It will be hard put to exceed walking on water, feeding five thousand with five loaves and two fish, and raising the dead.
John 20:21–23 “As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld.”
Jesus is saying that his disciples are to continue his work by receiving the Holy Spirit and, in that power, imparting the forgiveness of sins in His name.
We are part of this incredible plan – to build the church. The Lord uses us to accomplish some amazing things. When the gospel is presented and accepted, great miracles happen!
