The early Church
Acts 5:14-15 14 More and more men and women believed in the Lord and were added to their number. 15 As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peter's shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by. 16 Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those tormented by evil spirits, and all of them were healed.
As the apostles established the early church after Christi's resurrection, they traveled preaching the gospel, healing diseases, raising the dead, and exorcising demonic spirits.
Everyone Who Came To Jesus Was Healed
When Jesus walked on earth, more than two-thirds of His ministry involved healing the sick. They brought them all to Jesus; the sick, demon possessed, afflicted, tormented, in severe pain, paralyzed, etc, and He healed delivered and set them all free.
Matthew 8:16 When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick...
At least 14 times in the Gospels we see that Jesus healed all that came to Him. When Jesus was here on this earth, every person who would allow Him to minister to them was healed.
People with all kinds of sicknesses, diseases, and torments were brought to Jesus and He healed them. He didn’t just heal some; He healed them all!
The apostles in the early Church did the same works as Jesus
Acts 5:12-16 Now many signs and wonders were regularly done among the people by the hands of the apostles. And they were all together in Solomon's Portico. None of the rest dared join them, but the people held them in high esteem. And more than ever believers were added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, so that they even carried out the sick into the streets and laid them on cots and mats, that as Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on some of them. The people also gathered from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all healed.
The book of Acts records at least 20 specific miracles and tells of 9 times when clusters of them occurred
The fact that many miracles occurred does not mean that every believer should always expect one whenever he faces a problem.
You can be healed!
God’s primary purpose in performing miracles was to authenticate the ministry of the apostles,
When God answers our petitions for healing or deliverance, He usually works in such a way that the skeptic can easily deny that a miracle happened
Isaiah 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
Jesus's death on the cross healed us from the, or really delivered us or freed us from the punishment of our sin in the past
1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Prayer does not heal, does not deliver, does not cast out demons, does not set you free, etc, – its Jesus Christ Himself who does these things, who destroys the works of the enemy
1 John 3:8b For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
